Embankment station sits on the north bank of the Thames in the Charing Cross area, with exits directly onto the Embankment walkway along the river. The surrounding area contains Cleopatra's Needle - a 3,500-year-old Egyptian obelisk - Victoria Embankment Gardens, and is within walking distance of Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square and the South Bank via Hungerford Bridge.
