About 125th Street

125th Street is the main commercial artery of Harlem - New York's historically African-American neighbourhood that gave rise to the Harlem Renaissance, be-bop jazz, hip-hop and gospel music. The Apollo Theater - where Ella Fitzgerald, James Brown, Stevie Wonder and Diana Ross all made their names - is directly at the station exit. The neighbourhood has extraordinary soul food restaurants, live music and historical significance.
