About Beach 116th Street

Beach 116th Street is one of the Rockaway stations on the A train's Far Rockaway branch, serving the Rockaway Beach district of Queens. The beach is a genuine New York City public beach (free, no admission) with excellent surfing conditions, a historic boardwalk, and a beach food scene. The A train ride from Midtown takes about 90 minutes but the reward is an accessible ocean beach entirely within city limits.
