Fulham Broadway is a District line station in Zone 2 that serves two very different roles depending on the day. On Chelsea FC match days, the station is the primary Underground access point for Stamford Bridge - the ground is 2 minutes walk from the exit - and crowds are substantial before kick-off and after the final whistle. On non-match days, the station serves the Fulham Broadway shopping area and the residential streets of Fulham, one of south-west London's more prosperous and pleasant neighbourhoods.
The Fulham Road outside the station has a good range of restaurants and cafes. Eel Brook Common, a pleasant local park, is a short walk south and provides one of Fulham's more tranquil green spaces.
Fulham Broadway opened in 1880 and serves Zone 2 on the District line (Wimbledon branch) only. The station is not step-free.
The District line (green) connects north toward Parsons Green, Putney Bridge and west toward Earl's Court, Hammersmith and central London. Journey to Victoria is approximately 18 minutes.
Fulham Broadway has toilets, ATMs, shops, cafes and an information point. A large Sainsbury's and the Fulham Broadway shopping centre are directly adjacent.
Fulham Broadway is not step-free. Earl's Court (step-free on District line) is several stops east.
Stamford Bridge - 2 minutes walk. Home of Chelsea FC. Stadium tours available on non-match days. Book in advance.
Fulham Road restaurants - Immediately outside. A good range of cafes, restaurants and bars along the Fulham Road.
Rush hours 08:00-09:30 and 17:30-19:30. Match days at Chelsea FC cause significant crowding around kick-off and full-time.
