Heron Quays is a DLR Zone 2 station on the Isle of Dogs, sandwiched between Canary Wharf and South Quay. It sits at the heart of the Canary Wharf financial district and is used primarily by workers commuting to the offices that surround the dock basins. The station offers elevated views over the South Dock and the towers of Canary Wharf.
Heron Quays opened in 1987 as one of the original DLR stations. It is located in Zone 2 on the Bank branch, between Canary Wharf and South Quay. The elevated platform sits above the South Dock, giving clear views of the water and the surrounding towers.
The DLR serves Heron Quays on the Bank branch. Canary Wharf (Jubilee and Elizabeth lines) is one stop north -less than 2 minutes. Bank is around 9 minutes. The station is within easy walking distance of all of Canary Wharf's transport options.
Heron Quays has full step-free access. Facilities on-site are minimal -the Canary Wharf retail complex and all its shops, cafes and restaurants is a 5-minute walk north. The dock-side restaurants and bars of South Dock are also nearby.
