Tufnell Park is a Northern line Zone 2 station between Kentish Town and Archway on the High Barnet branch. The surrounding neighbourhood is quietly residential — Victorian terraces, a small high street, and the kind of north London calm that attracts young families and professionals who want proximity to Camden and Hampstead without the crowds. Dartmouth Park, immediately east of the station, is one of the more handsome Victorian residential areas in inner north London, with streets of large stucco houses and a genuine village character.
The Parkland Walk starts near the station — a 4-mile nature corridor following a disused railway line through Highgate and Crouch End to Finsbury Park, entirely car-free and one of north London's most rewarding urban walks. Hampstead Heath is accessible by a 20-minute walk through Dartmouth Park.
