About the Line 3 (Aqua)

The first fully underground metro line in Mumbai, connecting Colaba to SEEPZ via BKC and the Airport.

History

Line 3, also known as the Aqua Line, is Mumbai's first fully underground metro corridor. Spanning 33.5 km from Colaba to SEEPZ, it tunnels through the city's most densely populated and historically sensitive areas. It was a monumental engineering feat involving tunneling under the Mithi River and alongside heritage structures in South Mumbai. The line is designed to decongest the overburdened suburban railway and provide direct metro access to the business district of BKC and both airport terminals.
