About Hongō-sanchōme

Hongō-sanchōme is a Marunouchi and Oedo line interchange adjacent to the historic campus of the University of Tokyo (Todai) - Japan's most prestigious university. The red-brick Akamon gate (Red Gate) of the university is a short walk from the station. The Hongō neighbourhood retains much of its early 20th-century character with traditional crafts shops, bookshops, and local restaurants serving the student population.
