Al Bat'ha Metro Station opens the door to one of the most vibrant and distinctively Saudi commercial districts in Riyadh. The Al Bat'ha area - sometimes written Al Batha - is the city's traditional market quarter: a dense maze of shops, stalls, wholesale warehouses, textile traders, hardware dealers, and street food vendors that has been the commercial heart of old Riyadh for generations. The metro brings this neighbourhood within easy reach of the rest of the city without the challenge of navigating its notoriously busy streets by car.
Elevated Zone 1 Blue Line station. South of the National Museum area, approaching the southern industrial and commercial districts. Opened 2024.
Blue Line only. Northbound to National Museum (Green Line interchange), STC Al Olaya (Red Line), and KAFD. Southbound to Al Owd, Manfouhah, and the southern stations.
WiFi, toilets, and ATMs. The station serves a busy and diverse mix of shoppers, traders, and residents throughout the day and into the evening.
Full step-free access with lifts, tactile paving, audio announcements, and platform screen doors.
Al Bat'ha traditional market - directly above and around the station. Riyadh's main traditional wholesale and retail market district with hundreds of shops across multiple categories.
Textile and garment souq - within the district. One of the most comprehensive fabric and clothing markets in the city, used by retailers from across Riyadh.
Street food corridor - surrounding streets. Budget-friendly Saudi and South Asian street food at stalls and small restaurants in the market district.
Sunday to Thursday 06:00 to midnight, Friday 13:00 to 02:00, Saturday 06:00 to 02:00. The market district is liveliest from around 16:00 to 22:00, particularly on Thursday evenings. Avoid Saturday mornings when the area is at its most congested.
