About King Khalid Airport Terminal 5 Metro Station

Terminal 5 Metro Station serves KKIA's newest terminal building - the most modern facility at King Khalid International Airport, built to handle growing passenger volumes as Riyadh expands its aviation capacity under Vision 2030. The station is the western-most of the three airport metro stations, sitting closest to the direction of PNU and KAFD on the Yellow Line.

Terminal 5 is a bright, well-lit facility with wider concourses and newer infrastructure than the older terminal buildings. The metro station reflects this - contemporary finishes, good natural light, and a layout designed for efficient passenger flow with luggage.

Station Overview

Terminal 5 Station opened in 2024 on the Yellow Line in Zone 3. It is the third and final airport station heading westbound from Terminals 1 and 2 toward the city. From here, the next stops are PNU 2, PNU 1, and then KAFD for the main network interchange.

Lines and Connectivity

The Yellow Line connects Terminal 5 eastward to Terminals 3 and 4 and Terminals 1 and 2, and westward toward PNU, SABIC, Uthman Bin Affan Road, Ar Rabi, and KAFD. At KAFD, Blue and Purple Line connections serve the wider Riyadh network.

Station Layout and Structure

At-grade station with single island platform, full-length overhead canopy, and covered walkways to the Terminal 5 building. Clean and uncluttered layout with wide fare gates suitable for passengers with luggage trolleys.

Facilities

ATMs, Darb card vending machines, shops, toilets, WiFi, and an information point. The newer terminal environment means facilities are generally newer and cleaner than at the older terminal stations.

Accessibility

Fully step-free. Lifts, ramps, wide gates, tactile paving, audio announcements, and platform screen doors throughout. Level access between terminal building and metro platform minimises effort for passengers with luggage or mobility aids.
