History
The Yellow Line was planned from the earliest stages of the Riyadh Metro project as the critical airport connector, a feature that every world-class metro network requires. King Khalid International Airport is one of the largest airports in the world by land area, and the Yellow Line was designed to serve all five of its terminals with dedicated stations. The route also passes through KAFD, creating a dual-purpose corridor that serves both international arrivals heading into the financial district and domestic passengers heading to the city centre.
