Riyadh Rail Station Metro is the most multimodal station in the Riyadh Metro network - the point where the Orange Line interfaces directly with the Saudi Railways (SAR) intercity train network. From here, SAR operates long-distance rail services to Dammam, Hofuf, and other Eastern Province destinations, making this station the junction between Riyadh's urban metro and the Kingdom's intercity rail system. It is the equivalent of a mainline rail terminus in a European city - the point where city and national rail meet.
At-grade Zone 1 Orange Line station with direct interchange to the Saudi Railways (SAR) passenger terminal. Opened 2024. Part of the northern arc of the Orange Line between First Industrial City to the east and Qasr Al Hokm (Blue Line interchange) to the west.
Orange Line connects west to Qasr Al Hokm (Blue Line interchange) and the historic city centre, and east toward Jarir District and the eastern Orange Line arc. SAR intercity rail connects north and east toward Dammam and the Eastern Province, with journey times of approximately 4.5 hours to Dammam.
The at-grade station sits adjacent to the SAR rail terminal. Covered walkways connect the metro concourse to the SAR ticketing hall and platform access. The layout is designed to minimise luggage-carrying walking distances between the metro and train.
Parking, information desk, toilets, WiFi, and ATMs. The SAR terminal itself has additional facilities including a waiting lounge, cafes, and retail. Luggage trolleys are available from the SAR terminal.
Full step-free access throughout. The at-grade layout minimises level changes between metro and train. Lifts, wide gates, tactile paving, audio announcements in Arabic and English, and platform screen doors on the metro side.
Saudi Railways (SAR) intercity terminal - directly connected. Services to Dammam, Hofuf, Haradh, and the Eastern Province.
Qasr Al Hokm historic district - accessible via the Orange Line westbound. Masmak Fortress, Deera Square, and Al Dirah Souq are a few stops away.
Metro: Sunday to Thursday 06:00 to midnight, Friday 13:00 to 02:00, Saturday 06:00 to 02:00. SAR trains operate on a separate published timetable - check the SAR website or app for current schedules and booking.
