About the Orange Line

The Orange Line (Line 3) runs 40.7 km from Jeddah Road in the west through the historic core of the city to Khashm Al-An in the east. It serves the iconic Qasr Al Hokm station in the historic downtown and connects the western residential belt with the eastern suburbs via a broad arc through central Riyadh.

History

The Orange Line was engineered to serve the densely populated western and historic districts of Riyadh. It passes through the city's oldest urban core, including the Qasr Al Hokm area - the seat of the royal and judicial heritage of the Al Saud dynasty. The Western Station is one of the four architecturally iconic stations and serves as a major transit hub connecting metro riders to intercity buses. The line's length reflects the sprawling geography of western Riyadh, which historically developed along the Madinah Road corridor heading toward the holy city.
