Navigating a new city by metro can be overwhelming. Timetables, fare zones, ticket types, interchanges — every network has its own logic. We built World Metro Guide because we kept running into the same problem: good, reliable, plain-English metro information was scattered across dozens of official sites, each with a different structure and varying levels of clarity.
So we decided to fix it. One website. Consistent format. Every major metro system on the planet. Station-by-station guides, fare calculators, route planners, and honest travel tips written by people who have actually ridden these networks.
We cover 50+ cities — from the London Underground and Delhi Metro to the Tokyo subway and the New York City MTA. And we are always adding more.

Four principles that shape every guide, tool, and page on this site.
We cross-reference data from official metro operators, on-the-ground reports, and user feedback. If something is wrong, we fix it — fast.
Every guide is written for real journeys — not just data dumps. We include tips you would only know from actually using the network.
We are not affiliated with any government body or transit authority. Our editorial decisions are driven by what helps travellers, not by who pays us.
Metro networks change. New lines open, fares rise, stations close for renovation. We monitor changes and keep guides current.
Detailed pages for thousands of stations — facilities, accessibility, nearby attractions, and travel tips.
Instant fare estimates for popular metro cities. No sign-up, no fuss.
Plan journeys across metro networks and find the fastest route between stations.
Every line explained — termini, key stops, interchange points, and operating hours.
Overview pages for each metro system covering history, ticket types, and essential tips.
Practical articles on using metro systems — airport transfers, smart cards, peak hours, and more.
World Metro Guide is an independent website and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any metro authority, transport for authority, or government body. Information is provided for general guidance only. Always verify fares, timings, and schedules directly with the official operator before travelling.
We read every message. Whether it is a data correction, a city suggestion, or a partnership enquiry — we want to hear from you.
