Ashram

Ashram Metro Station is a critically important underground transit hub on the Pink Line, situated at one of Delhi's most notoriously congested intersections-Ashram Chowk. Serving as the meeting point of the Ring Road and Mathura Road, the area is a massive bottleneck for surface traffic. The station's opening in 2018 was a monumental engineering achievement and a massive relief for commuters, providing a rapid, subterranean bypass to the chaos above.

Constructing the station was an immense challenge due to the heavy traffic, existing flyovers, and utility lines. As a result, the station features a highly compact, multi-level underground design. Despite the space constraints, the interiors are efficiently laid out, featuring clean aesthetics, bright lighting, and heavy-duty escalators. The station primarily serves the residents of the nearby affluent colonies like New Friends Colony and Maharani Bagh, as well as the dense urban villages of Sunlight Colony and Bhogal.

Strategically, Ashram station is a vital link connecting South Delhi to East Delhi and Noida (via the DND Flyway just ahead). It is heavily used by professionals commuting to the commercial hubs of Nehru Place and Okhla who wish to avoid the surface gridlock. The station environment is an oasis of calm and order beneath one of the city's most chaotic junctions, maintained with strict security and high standards of cleanliness by the DMRC.
