Major Mohit Sharma

Major Mohit Sharma (formerly Rajendra Nagar) Metro Station is an elevated station on the Red Line, named in honor of Major Mohit Sharma, a posthumous recipient of the Ashoka Chakra, India's highest peacetime military decoration. The station serves the residential and industrial areas of Rajendra Nagar in Ghaziabad and acts as a proud reminder of the nation's military heritage.

As part of the 9.6 km Ghaziabad extension of the Red Line, this station has dramatically improved the quality of life for residents in the Pasonda and Rajendra Nagar localities. The station is equipped with state-of-the-art DMRC infrastructure, including high-speed elevators, wide staircases, and a spacious concourse level that houses automated fare collection (AFC) gates. The platform level offers a clear view of the surrounding urban landscape, which is a mix of residential blocks and emerging commercial spaces.

The station is a key transit point for workers heading toward the Sahibabad Industrial Area. It also serves several local schools and healthcare facilities, making it a community hub.
