About Najafgarh

Najafgarh Metro Station is an underground Grey Line station that brought the Delhi Metro to the historic town of Najafgarh - once famous as the site of a major British India battle in 1857. The station opened in 2019 as part of the Phase 3 Grey Line, giving this long-isolated community its first rapid transit connection to the capital.

Najafgarh is also known for the Najafgarh Jheel (lake), one of the largest wetlands in the NCR and an important bird sanctuary. The metro has opened up eco-tourism possibilities for this area.
