East Putney station is a District line stop in south-west London, serving the residential East Putney neighbourhood between Putney Bridge to the north and Southfields to the south on the Wimbledon branch. The station is a local commuter stop for the prosperous residential streets of East Putney, which benefit from proximity to Wimbledon Common and the wider southwest London parklands. Wimbledon Common, one of London's largest open spaces, is accessible by bus from the area.
East Putney station opened in 1889. It sits in Zone 2 and is served by the District line on the Wimbledon branch. The station does not have step-free access. It is between Putney Bridge to the north and Southfields to the south.
The District line (green) connects north through Putney Bridge, Parsons Green and into central London. Southbound services continue through Southfields and Wimbledon Park to Wimbledon (the terminus).
East Putney station has a small shop and ticket machines. The surrounding residential area has local convenience stores, cafes and restaurants. Upper Richmond Road is a short walk away with more local facilities.
East Putney does not have step-free access. Putney Bridge (one stop north) also lacks step-free access; Wimbledon (several stops south) has step-free access on the District line.

Putney - accessible by bus north or one stop to Putney Bridge. Putney High Street, the Thames riverside and good restaurants.
Southfields - one stop south. The closest tube to the Wimbledon Championships, with a good village high street.
District line services at East Putney run from approximately 05:30 to midnight on weekdays and similar hours on weekends. There is no Night Tube on the District line. The station is quiet outside weekday rush hours.
