Finchley Road station is where the Jubilee line's tracks diverge from the Metropolitan line in north London - an important operational junction that passengers experience as a useful interchange point between two different routes into the same central London destinations. The Metropolitan line goes via Baker Street and into the Circle line loop; the Jubilee line heads south through Swiss Cottage, St John's Wood and Baker Street with its faster, more direct route to Canary Wharf and the South Bank. The station is in Zone 2, surrounded by the retail streets of the Finchley Road, and the O2 Centre shopping mall is immediately adjacent.

Finchley Road station opened in 1879 as part of the Metropolitan Railway. It sits in Zone 2 and is served by the Metropolitan line and the Jubilee line. The station does not have step-free access. It is a major junction point where the Jubilee line diverges north from the Metropolitan line route.

Lines and Connectivity

The Metropolitan line (magenta) connects south towards Baker Street, King's Cross and the Circle line loop, and north towards Wembley Park, Harrow-on-the-Hill and the outer Metropolitan branches to Amersham, Chesham and Watford.

The Jubilee line (silver) connects south through Swiss Cottage, St John's Wood and Baker Street towards Waterloo, London Bridge, Canary Wharf and beyond. Northbound on the Jubilee, the line continues through West Hampstead, Kilburn, Wembley Park and Stanmore.
