About Hainault

Hainault station is the central junction of the Central line's Hainault loop, where trains from both directions - from Woodford via Roding Valley and Chigwell, and from Newbury Park via Barkingside and Fairlop - converge before circling back. The station sits immediately adjacent to Hainault Forest Country Park, which is one of the few surviving fragments of the ancient Forest of Essex that once covered much of this part of the county. The park has a lake, open grassland, ancient woodland and good walking paths, making Hainault one of the better nature destinations on the Central line's outer reaches.
