Sobha Realty is the station most people mean when they say they are taking the metro to Dubai Marina. From the platform you look out over one of the densest forests of towers on earth, and the waterfront that curls between them is where much of the city's leisure life plays out after dark. Step off here on a cool evening and the pull is immediate, towards the promenade, the moored yachts and the glow of restaurant terraces along the water.

What makes the station so useful is the handover to the Dubai Tram. A footbridge links the metro to the tram line that loops through the Marina and out to Jumeirah Beach Residence, so you can arrive by Red Line and finish the journey to the beach without a taxi. That combination is a real relief on busy weekends, when parking around the Marina is a battle and the metro-and-tram route glides straight past it.

Station Overview

Sobha Realty Metro Station opened in 2010 on the Dubai Metro Red Line and sits in Zone 2 of the NOL fare system. The trains are fully automated and driverless, and the station is elevated, standing above the road on a viaduct.

Lines and Connectivity

Sobha Realty is a Red Line station with a link to the Dubai Tram. North-east the Red Line runs towards Downtown, Deira and the Centrepoint terminus, while south-west it continues towards Ibn Battuta and the Route 2020 branch. The tram carries you deeper into the Marina and JBR, and for the Green Line you change at BurJuman or Union.

Station Layout and Structure

The station is elevated, with lifts, escalators and stairs between the concourse and the platform, and a footbridge running across to the Dubai Marina tram stop. Facilities include toilets, ATMs, NOL top-up machines, small shops and a staffed service point. Gold Class carriages sit at the front of each train and a women and children carriage runs in the middle.

Accessibility

Sobha Realty has full step-free access, with lifts linking street level, the concourse and the platform, and a level bridge across to the tram. Tactile paving, audio announcements and platform screen doors are all in place, making the metro-to-tram transfer manageable for wheelchair users and families.

• Change here to the Dubai Tram for the Marina Walk and Jumeirah Beach Residence rather than walking the full distance.
• Evenings and weekends are when the Marina waterfront comes alive with dining and strolling crowds.
• Your NOL card covers both the metro and the tram, so no separate ticket is needed for the transfer.

Timings and Best Time to Travel

Trains at Sobha Realty run Saturday to Wednesday 05:00-00:00, Thursday 05:00-01:00 and Friday 08:00-01:00. Weekday rush hours around 07:30-09:30 and 17:00-19:30 are busy with commuters, but the biggest crowds gather on Friday and weekend evenings as visitors head for the Marina. Late mornings are the quietest for a relaxed arrival.
