About Canons Park

Canons Park station is a quiet Jubilee line stop in the outer north-west London suburbs, serving a residential area between Stanmore and Queensbury. The station takes its name from the nearby Canons Park - the historic grounds of the former Canons House, once one of the grandest private estates in England belonging to the Duke of Chandos in the early 18th century. The house was demolished in the 1740s after the Duke's financial ruin, but the grounds survive as a public park and include formal gardens, a lake and pleasant open space that is largely unknown outside the immediate neighbourhood.
