About Ladbroke Grove

Ladbroke Grove station sits in North Kensington at the heart of the area most associated with the Notting Hill Carnival - Europe's largest street festival, held annually on the August Bank Holiday weekend and drawing around two million people to the surrounding streets. The Carnival route runs through this area and the station, along with the surrounding neighbourhood, operates very differently on Carnival weekend than at any other time of year. Outside of Carnival, the area is a residential neighbourhood with a complex and rich cultural history, the Portobello Road market district within walking distance, and Trellick Tower - one of Ernő Goldfinger's major Brutalist housing blocks - visible from the surrounding streets.
