About Cambronne

Cambronne is a quiet Line 6 station in the 15th arrondissement - Paris's largest arrondissement and one of its most genuinely residential. The area operates almost entirely for its own population rather than tourists, which makes it one of the more honest and affordable parts of the city to explore. The main local draw is Parc Georges Brassens, a former 19th-century slaughterhouse complex that has been transformed into one of Paris's most characterful parks - the original abattoir buildings have been repurposed as a theatre, a gymnasium and a weekend book market, and the park itself is relaxed and unhurried in a way that the more central green spaces rarely manage.

Station Overview

Zone 1. Line 6 only. No step-free access.

Travel Tips

  • Parc Georges Brassens Sunday book market (10:00–19:00) is excellent for French literature and second-hand books at reasonable prices
  • The weekend organic market in the park is one of the better neighbourhood food markets in Paris
  • The 15th arrondissement has some of Paris's best value restaurants - avoid the tourist-adjacent streets near Eiffel Tower and prices drop significantly
