Danube

Danube sits out towards the far western end of the Red Line, in the Jebel Ali corridor where Dubai's port, warehouses and industrial estates spread across a wide, low-rise landscape. Named after the home-improvement brand that holds its naming rights, the station is a practical commuter stop rather than a destination, and it draws most of its passengers from the businesses and labour accommodation of the surrounding district.

This is one of the calmer stretches of the network for much of the day. Away from the peaks the platforms are quiet, and the station's real rhythm follows the working shifts of the industrial zone, with clear surges in the early morning and again in the evening as workers head to and from the plants and depots nearby.

Station Overview

Danube opened in 2012 on the Dubai Metro Red Line and lies in Zone 1 of the NOL fare system, at the outer end of the network. It is an elevated station on a viaduct, served by the network's fully automated, driverless trains.

Lines and Connectivity

Danube is a Red Line station near the western end of the line. Trains run towards Ibn Battuta, the Marina and on to Downtown and Deira, while in the other direction the line reaches the Life Pharmacy (UAE Exchange) terminus. For the Green Line, change at BurJuman or Union.

Station Layout and Structure

Danube is elevated, reached by lifts, escalators and stairs, with a clean, functional concourse geared to steady commuter flows. Facilities cover the essentials, with toilets, ATMs, NOL top-up machines and a staffed service point. Gold Class carriages sit at the front of each train and a women and children carriage runs in the middle.

Accessibility

Danube has full step-free access, with lifts between street level, the concourse and the platform. Tactile paving, audio announcements and platform screen doors are all in place, in line with the network's standards.

Travel Tips

• The station is busiest around industrial shift changes, so trains can be crowded early and late in the working day.
• Plan onward transport in advance, as this is an industrial area with few walkable attractions.
• For the Green Line, change at BurJuman or Union.
• A NOL card costs AED 25 including AED 19 of credit and works across metro, tram, bus and marine transport.
• Local cafeterias near the station serve the workforce if you need a quick bite.
• The metro runs Saturday to Wednesday 05:00-00:00, Thursday 05:00-01:00 and Friday 08:00-01:00.

Trains at Danube run Saturday to Wednesday 05:00-00:00, Thursday 05:00-01:00 and Friday 08:00-01:00. It is a quiet station for most of the day, with the clearest surges tied to industrial shift changes and the standard weekday commuter peaks around 07:30-09:30 and 17:00-19:30.
