About Stadium

Stadium is named for Rashid Stadium, the home ground of the Shabab Al Ahli football club, which sits close to the station in the Al Qusais area. On match days the platforms take on a completely different energy as supporters pour off the trains, but for most of the week this is a straightforward neighbourhood stop serving the residents and workers of a busy, unpretentious part of the city.

Away from the football, the area around the station is practical and local, with a large hypermarket, everyday shops and cafeterias within easy reach of the exits. It is one of those Green Line stations that gives you a feel for the working, residential Dubai that sits behind the postcard skyline.

Station Overview

Stadium opened in 2011 on the Dubai Metro Green Line and sits in Zone 5 of the NOL fare system. It is an elevated station on a viaduct, served by the network's fully automated, driverless trains.

Lines and Connectivity

Stadium is a Green Line station. Trains run towards Al Qusais and the Etisalat by e& terminus in one direction and towards the Deira and Bur Dubai heritage stops in the other. To reach the Red Line, change at Union or BurJuman.

Station Layout and Structure

Stadium is an elevated station reached by lifts, escalators and stairs. Facilities include toilets, ATMs, NOL top-up machines and a staffed service point, and the wide exits help handle the surges on match days. Gold Class carriages are at the front of each train and a women and children carriage runs in the middle.

Accessibility

Stadium has full step-free access, with lifts between street level, the concourse and the platform. Tactile paving, audio announcements and platform screen doors are all in place, in line with the network's standards.
