About The Gardens

The Gardens takes its name from the mature, tree-lined residential community it serves, one of the older low-rise neighbourhoods in this part of new Dubai. The station opened with the Route 2020 branch, extending the Red Line into a cluster of well-established communities that had long relied on cars and feeder buses to reach the rest of the city.

Compared with the high-rise corridors closer to Downtown, this is a calmer, more suburban stop. Most passengers are residents of The Gardens and neighbouring Discovery Gardens heading to work or to the malls and beaches along the coast, and the station has an easy, unhurried feel outside the commuter peaks.

Station Overview

The Gardens opened in 2021 as part of the Route 2020 branch of the Dubai Metro, and sits in Zone 2 of the NOL fare system. It is an elevated station on a viaduct, served by the network's fully automated, driverless trains.

Lines and Connectivity

The Gardens is on the Route 2020 branch of the Red Line. Branch trains run towards Expo City in one direction and back through the branch to National Paints in the other, where they rejoin the main Red Line for Ibn Battuta, the Marina, Downtown and Deira. For the Green Line, change at BurJuman or Union.

Station Layout and Structure

The Gardens is an elevated station with lifts, escalators and stairs from the concourse to the platform. Facilities cover the essentials, with toilets, ATMs, NOL top-up machines and a staffed service point. Gold Class carriages are at the front of each train and a women and children carriage runs in the middle.

Accessibility

The Gardens has full step-free access, with lifts between street level, the concourse and the platform. Tactile paving, audio announcements and platform screen doors are all in place, in line with the network's standards.
