History

Line 8, also known as the Gold Line, is envisioned as a high-speed link between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) and the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA). Approved as a high-priority project, it will feature fewer stops and higher speeds to cater specifically to air travelers and corporate professionals moving between the two aviation hubs. The project is being developed through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
