About the Line 2B (Yellow)

An eastern extension of the Yellow Line, connecting DN Nagar to Mandale.

History

Line 2B is one of the most strategically important corridors in Mumbai's current metro build-out because it extends the western Link Road corridor deep into the eastern suburbs. The alignment has been designed to tie together multiple high-demand districts including Bandra, BKC-adjacent catchments, Kurla, Chembur and Mankhurd. As of April 2026, MMRDA announced passenger timetable changes stating that new Metro Lines 2B and 9 had become operational, while the broader corridor remains under phased completion and network integration work.
