Salah Al Din

Salah Al Din is one of the underground stations in the thick of Deira, the older commercial core of Dubai where the streets are packed with shops, hotels and some of the best value dining in the city. Step up from the platforms and you are right in the middle of a dense, energetic district that feels a world away from the polished towers of Downtown, with Reef Mall practically on the doorstep.

Station Overview

Salah Al Din opened in 2011 on the Dubai Metro Green Line and sits in Zone 5 of the NOL fare system. It is an underground station beneath Deira, served by the network's fully automated, driverless trains.

Lines and Connectivity

Salah Al Din is a Green Line station in the underground Deira section. Trains run towards Abu Baker Al Siddique and the elevated stops further out in one direction, and towards Baniyas Square, the Gold Souq and Al Ras in the other. Union, a short ride or roughly ten minute walk away, is a Red Line interchange, as is BurJuman.

Station Layout and Structure

Salah Al Din is an underground station, with lifts, escalators and stairs connecting the street, the concourse and the platform. Facilities include toilets, ATMs, NOL top-up machines, a staffed service point and small shops. Gold Class carriages are at the front of each train and a women and children carriage runs in the middle.

Accessibility

Salah Al Din has full step-free access, with lifts running from street level down to the platform. Tactile paving, audio announcements and platform screen doors are all in place, in line with the network's standards.

• Reef Mall sits right by the station, making this an easy stop for shopping and food.
• Union is only about a ten minute walk away if you would rather transfer to the Red Line on foot.

• A NOL card costs AED 25 including AED 19 of credit and works across metro, tram, bus and marine transport.
• Being underground, the station is a welcome cool break from the busy Deira streets above.
• The metro runs Saturday to Wednesday 05:00-00:00, Thursday 05:00-01:00 and Friday 08:00-01:00.

Timings and Best Time to Travel

Trains at Salah Al Din run Saturday to Wednesday 05:00-00:00, Thursday 05:00-01:00 and Friday 08:00-01:00. As one of the busier Green Line stops in central Deira, it is crowded at the weekday commuter peaks around 07:30-09:30 and 17:00-19:30 and stays lively into the evening. Late mornings are the calmest time to pass through.
